Why do Americans think that all Jrock equates to Visual Kei?

I understand the crappy emo scene so I can see why this visual kei stuff is popular, but they don't make up most of the Japanese Rock scene.

You have Indie Rock bands that aren't VK such as: The Pillows, Analog Fish, Asian Kung-Fu Generation, Orane Range, Supercar, FOOT STAMP, Back Drop Bomb, B'z, The Back Horn,Bivattchee, Cherry Filter, The Noodles, The Mornings, Ellegarden, Suneohair, Freenote, The Band Apart, Sambo Master, and many many many more Jrock bands. These are all non-visual kei groups, and they get ignored on the internet, and makes my search alternative, and indie Jrock even harder because american girls are spamming it with visual kei groups.

HELP PLEASE?! IS IT JUST ME OR PERFUMES DONT WORK ON ME?! PLEASE HELP?

okay like this girl i know would always smell good like really good,like you can smell her when your talking to her from like a distant and i asked her what perfume she wears and she said like Paris hilton with the swirly bottle, so like on christmas i bought it, and i smelled it on me for the first day throughout the day, but then after like next week, i cant smell the perfume on me anymore.
The same with lotion, the first time i use a new lotion, i smell it on me on the first day i use it, but if i use it everyday i cant smell it anymore?

Like how do people like put perfumes or body spray that when you walk by, people can smell you? but not too strongly?
